Juniper Hotel Banff

Are you looking for some of the best mountain scenery in Banff. Check out the Juniper Hotel.

To be honest, it is hard to find a hotel in Banff and Lake Louise that does not have a stunning view of the surrounding mountains.

However the Juniper Hotel is lucky enough to be the only hotel that enjoys an iconic and unobstructed view of both Mount Rundle and Sulphur Mountain that spans the whole town of Banff.

The Juniper's exclusive location at the base of Mount Norquay provides striking south-facing views of three iconic mountain ranges and Vermilion Lakes.

The location of the Juniper is second to none... perched quaintly at the base of Mount Norquay and surrounded by a lush pine forest.

If you've never been to Banff, you'll have to take my word when I say that describing the nature that surrounds of Banff is simply stunning.

Formerly the Timberline Lodge, the renovated Juniper Hotel is the first hotel in North America to reflect Art Eco design.  It is the perfect way to describe the reclamation, recycling and re-use that characterized the hotels restoration in 2003/04.

The hotel's interior is a return to the natural elements of Rocky Mountain Rundlestone fireplaces. They've reclaimed rough cut fir timber and reused the former hotels resources.

The Juniper Hotel & Bistro offers accommodation to those in search of a mountain oasis away from the hectic pace of life.  With fifty-two designer guest rooms, this is the best of Banff’s boutique hotels.

They feature a full service Bistro. There's a year round outdoor hot tub, with walking trails on site, ski storage, meeting facilities and of course, the sought after mountain views.

The Juniper Hotel is a pet friendly hotel and is Banff's first bike-friendly hotel with an onsite bike tuning station and rentals.

The Juniper Hotel is not located within the Banff townsite which means you have to drive (you'll probably have a car anyways but it's nice to be able to walk to dinner in the town as well).

It's on the other side of the highway (hwy 1) but it's easy to get to and there are signs.

The Juniper Bistro serves a menu inspired by its location – nourishing breakfasts, hearty lunches and flavourful dinners, all made with fresh ingredients from Canada when possible. Thanks to the mountain view, every meal comes with a feast for your eyes.

Juniper Hotel Banff
The Juniper Hotel features a restaurant with an adjacent fireside lounge.

Wireless Internet access is complimentary.

The hotel's library offers books about history, science, and local culture.

Rotating displays of regional art decorate the hotel's public areas. The outdoor spa tub overlooks Mount Norquay

The Juniper Bistro & Lounge offers a tranquil atmosphere and breath-taking Rocky Mountain views. Guests from all around meet at the Juniper Bistro to experience memorable dining.

The Juniper Bistro features “cross roads” cuisine. “Cross Roads” is drawn from the memory of the first peoples who traveled between the salmon region to the west and the buffalo plains to the east. We are proud to weave the stories of regional growers and producers in to our menus.

Rocky Mountain Inspired Bistro

THE Juniper Bistro is inspired by the Rocky Mountains and offers unsurpassed and majestic southerly views of the Bow Valley in the Banff National Park. The first peoples word to describe our bistro is "muk a muk” which is Chinook for "food" or "feast".

Crossroads Cuisine

The Juniper Bistro kitchen is inspired by the Bow Valley corridor bridging two abundant food baskets.  From the prairie grasslands to the Fraser Valley Delta the Juniper Bistro features “cross roads” western Canadian cuisine.

The Bistro’s menus range from relaxed and comforting to sophisticated and adventuresome.   Chef Tim is committed to using the freshest and finest fish, fowl, game, meats, greens, and herbs to create a sense of place with classic regional specialties.

The carefully selected ingredients reflect seasonal changes of flavor with influences throughout the Rockies,Alberta and Western Canada.

Enjoy a healthy and environmentally conscious lifestyle..... All Bistro menus are 100% trans-fat free.  Seafood selected by the Chef is 100% Oceanwise sustainable seafood.

 Lunch & Patio

The sun is high in the sky and the patio is the perfect location to enjoy a cold beverage.

You can soak in some good Alberta sunshine!!!

The lunches are modern yet simple: crispy, refreshing salads, healthy sandwiches, the best Bison Burger in the Rockies, and west coast seafood.

The Bistro’s dinner menu ranges from relaxed and comforting to sophisticated and adventuresome. While in the Rockies, you must try signature dishes such as the blueberry braised bison short ribs or the taste of the rockies game and cheese platter.

Other favorites include the westcoast seafood hot pot or the AAA Alberta tenderloin with red wine jus. All soups, sauces and dressings are made from scratch in the Bistro kitchen.

My favorite is the beach scallops and the crab cakes....very nice!!!

You've got to try the decadent vegan chocolate hazelnut pate from the Wild flour Bakery Cafe served at the Juniper but can be found in the Bison Courtyard, downtown Banff.

Juniper Bistro menus always include vegetarian options and the kitchen team is happy to meet any dietary requirements.
