There are a number of companies which offer shuttle service from the Calgary International Airport.
A shuttle allows you to sit back and enjoy the scenery without the hassles of expensive gas prices and daily parking fees. Don't forget that finding a parking spot in the Banff Townsite can be sometimes be a problem.
In the winter, there are shuttle buses that connect Banff Hotels with the ski slopes so often they are adequate for the duration of the visitor's stay in the Banff townsite.
Greyhound also has a stop at the Calgary airport. You cannot buy a Greyhound bus ticket at the Calgary airport; you must buy your ticket online and print it in advance, in order to get on at this stop.
Greyhound operates a scheduled bus service from downtown Calgary and the Calgary airport to Banff townsite. The journey takes 1¾ hours from downtown Calgary (longer from the airport).
To catch a Greyhound bus at the airport, you must buy your ticket online and print it. You cannot buy a Greyhound ticket at the airport from a Greyhound agent or Greyhound office.

Once you arrive in Banff, there are shuttles that take you to all the area ski slopes daily...they pick you up in front of your hotel and deliver you back on a scheduled basis. So no real need for a vehicle.
Check with your hotel for Banff shuttle schedules to the ski resort of your choice. They go frequently all day long…so if the kids want to sleep in or naptime is essential then this is a great flexible option.
