Blue Mountain Lodge Banff Reviews....
I stayed at Blue Mountain Lodge for 4 nights in September and had 3 different rooms. The room change was because we hadn't booked and decided to add on extra nights because we found so much to do in the area.
The location of the lodge is perfect, it has free parking and although the car park is small there is free parking at the front of the hotel.
Banff centre is within walking distance but not on the main street so we didn't feel like it was noisy.
The rooms at the lodge are a bit on the small size but we didn't come to Banff to sit in our rooms so this wasn't a problem to us. The rooms were very clean and we got extra towels and toiletries when we needed them.
The breakfast was a good quality continental, ( boiled eggs, quality bread, muffins, choice of cereals, preserves etc. ). This was served until 11 am which we liked because we could have a later start when we wanted.
Another advantage we found was the communal kitchen. This again was spotless and open for use until 8pm. This was good if you were trying to cut costs or fancied cooking something yourself, also good to prepare sandwiches for the hikes.
The owners and staff are quite active and were very informative about the area. we got maps and many tips local routes. We actually found them more useful than the local tourist information. We went on a biking route and a hike that was suggested, I also noticed that other guests were doing the same. With staying for 4 days we found this saved us a lot of wasted time finding our feet ourselves.
All in all we really enjoyed our stay at Blue Mountain, it's not a lavish, plush hotel but what it may lack in grandeur it makes up for in character, cleanliness and value for money.
Just returned from a five-night stay at this b and b. Although I do agree with some of the reviewers who say the rooms are small, we had a nice experience. The owner and staff were really nice and helpful to us.
The breakfasts were more continental than home-made, hot breakfasts we are used to at b and b's, but the website tells you what you will get. Perfect location—one block from Main Street. It was a bit more rustic than I was expecting but it was okay. I would consider staying here again when in Banff.
